Analytics

Understand who visits your site and how they found you

Overview

The Analytics module tracks every visitor to your site with detailed information about their source, behavior, and intent. Unlike traditional analytics, Loamly specifically identifies AI-driven traffic from platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity.

Traffic sources

Loamly automatically detects and categorizes traffic sources:

AI platforms

SourceDetection method
ChatGPTReferrer patterns and link formatting
ClaudeAnthropic referrer signatures
PerplexityPerplexity.ai referrer domain
GeminiGoogle AI referrer patterns
Other AIKnown AI assistant signatures

Traditional sources

  • Organic search — Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and other search engines
  • Paid search — Google Ads, Bing Ads with gclid/msclkid parameters
  • Social — Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social platforms
  • Direct — No referrer, typed URL, or bookmarks
  • Referral — Links from other websites
  • Email — Email campaign links with utm_medium=email

UTM parameters

Loamly respects standard UTM parameters. If you use utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign in your links, these values appear in visitor records.

Intent classification

Loamly uses machine learning to classify visitor intent based on their behavior and source:

IntentDescriptionSignals
Problem researchExploring a problem space, early stageBlog posts, educational content, broad queries
Solution comparisonEvaluating options, comparing vendorsPricing page, comparison pages, feature pages, multiple sessions
Active purchase intentReady to buy, high conversion potentialDemo requests, contact page, signup page, repeated pricing views
Returning userPrevious visitor coming backCookie match from prior session

How intent is calculated

Intent classification considers:

  • Pages visited and their types (pricing, docs, blog, etc.)
  • Time spent on site and per page
  • Scroll depth and engagement signals
  • Traffic source (AI vs organic vs direct)
  • Session count and recency

Engagement scoring

Each visitor receives an engagement score from 0-100 based on their activity:

FactorWeight
Pages viewed20%
Session duration20%
Scroll depth (average)15%
Click activity15%
Return visits15%
Key page visits (pricing, demo)15%

Use engagement scores to prioritize follow-up and identify your most interested visitors.

Real-time tracking

The real-time view shows visitors currently on your site:

  • Current page being viewed
  • How they arrived (source)
  • Geographic location
  • Time on site
  • Device type

Data updates every few seconds. This is useful for monitoring campaigns, launches, or live events.

Filtering and segments

Filter your analytics by any combination of:

  • Date range — Today, 7 days, 30 days, custom range
  • Traffic source — AI, organic, direct, social, etc.
  • Intent — Problem research, comparison, purchase intent
  • Geography — Country, region, city
  • Device — Desktop, mobile, tablet
  • Conversion status — Converted, not converted

Save segments

Create saved segments for common filters. For example, save "High intent AI traffic" to quickly access ChatGPT visitors with purchase intent.
